Voltage Drop Calculator
What is Voltage Drop?
Voltage drop is the reduction in voltage along a conductor due to its electrical resistance when current flows.
Calculation model
Vd = I · R
Where:
- Vd = voltage drop (V)
- I = current (A)
- R = conductor resistance (Ω)
Resistance is calculated from conductor material, length, and cross-sectional area.
R = ρ · 2L / A
The factor 2L accounts for the go-and-return path in single-phase circuits.
